Recently GN Solids Control, a major manufacturer for equipment of solids control, separation and conveyance, shipped 4 sets of full hydraulic decanter centrifuges to its customer.

GN Solids Control manufactures high quality and high performance decanter centrifuges ranging from 9” to 30”, using the best material (such as duplex steel) and best components (such as SKF bearing). They have been in operation worldwide for years.

Full hydraulic decanter centrifuges are part of GN’s decanter centrifuge product line, which is to meet the specific need of some critical applications.

The advantages of hydraulic decanter centrifuges are:

1. Hydraulic is a mature technology, it is being used in almost of all industry sectors, With modern control technology, hydraulic system can produce high precise torque and speed which is needed in the control of decanter centrifuges. For instance, hydraulic system can brake down the decanter centrifuge in an accurately controlled manner

2. Hydraulic drive provides high torque output while effectively protect the system. The rotating system has a big inert, which is difficult to manage in electrical system, while with hydraulic system the inert is well under control and acceleration & deceleration can be manipulated in the “gentle” way

3. Energy conservation. For electrical driven decanter centrifuges, a good portion of the electrical power is used to remove solids from the bowl, this necessitate an increase of motor power by about 50%. With hydraulic system, energy efficiency is greatly increase and much less power is needed

4. Hydraulic system is much simpler than electrical decanter centrifuge system, with much fewer moving parts and much less space required

5. Hydraulic system is much easier to repair, and the cost is much lower than electrical decanter centrifuges

There are many other advantages of hydraulic decanter centrifuges. For more information please contact GN Solids Control.
