GN Solids Control has recently completed the assembly and factory inspection of one batch of Pneumatic Sludge Transfer Pumps for an overseas customer. The equipment shown in the workshop is designed for efficient transfer of sludge, slurry, solids and other difficult-to-handle materials in industrial and environmental applications.

The GN Solids Vacuum Pump, also known as a sludge vacuum pump or solids transfer pump, is fully powered by compressed air. Instead of using a conventional electrically driven rotating pump, the system creates a vacuum to load material and then uses positive pressure to discharge it. This pneumatic operating principle makes the pump suitable for demanding working environments where electrical power may be limited or undesirable.

GN offers several standard models, including GNSP10B, GNSP20B and GNSP40B, with maximum water-based capacities of approximately 10, 20 and 40 m³/h respectively. Depending on the model, the pump can handle material with solids content of up to 80%, while the maximum discharge distance can reach 500–1,000 meters under suitable operating conditions.

The compact design shown in this shipment allows the equipment to be easily moved and deployed at different job sites. GN Pneumatic Sludge Transfer Pumps can be applied to sludge pit cleaning, drilling mud and cuttings transfer, mining slurry transportation, tailings handling, tank-bottom sludge removal, hazardous waste recovery, tunneling and TBM projects, and industrial wastewater treatment.

For applications involving high-viscosity sludge, abrasive slurry or materials containing large solids, conventional centrifugal pumps may face limitations. GN's pneumatic vacuum technology provides an alternative material-transfer solution with a simple internal structure and no rotating components in the material chamber, helping reduce wear and maintenance requirements.

Before selecting a model, GN evaluates factors such as material characteristics, solids concentration, particle size, required flow rate, suction distance, discharge distance and available compressed-air supply.

This latest shipment demonstrates GN Solids Control's manufacturing capability and experience in solids handling, sludge transfer and environmental equipment solutions for customers worldwide.
